Firstly, we were given an introduction to who Diageo are and what they do at Shieldhall. For those of you that may not know, a large majority of the alcohol on supermarket shelves has been bottled or brewed by Diageo and then shipped out for purchase. Brands include: Smirnoff, Bacardi, Gordon's, Johnnie Walker and Guinness.

Here's what the rest of the society thought of the visit.

I was really impressed with and grateful to Diageo for allowing the business society to visit. The team who took time out of their day to show us around were informative, friendly, and clearly passionate about the work they do. It was great that we were offered the opportunity to speak to HR and find out about opportunities as well as hearing from people currently in their graduate placements. Hopefully, a new relationship can develop with UWS and Diageo for future students.

Another great opportunity created by the business society exclusively for its members. A fun, insightful visit providing students the opportunity to relate their classroom based knowledge to a real practical environment.
Overall it was a great day and thank you to Diageo and its staff for taking time out of their day to provide the tour and the additional information too.
